Greetings from a cool wet day in Cape Town.
Well done the Proteas!
Thank you so much to all who have offered support, enthusiastically read this Blog, watched the incredibly good "Office Block" at the Baxter and a very special thanks to those who have already pledged donations to FTH:K.  Details of those kind people in my next post.

I thought it is time to give you an update on the planning for the trip.

I've decided that, as I have a lot of new equipment and all sorts of electronic gadgets to use on the way, I had better do a test ride before leaving.  It will also give me some Blogging practice - I look forward to your feedback - please leave comments for me. The test ride will be 65 kms from Cape Town to Stellenbosch  on Sunday 12 August.  I'll camp for the night, then ride a circular route around Franschhoek on Monday, camp again in Stellenbosch that night and ride home on Tuesday 14 August.  That will leave me enough time to tweak equipment and make any changes before I depart.

Talking of departing - here is my itinerary:
I leave for London on Thursday 23rd August.  I intend to begin the ride from Canterbury Cathedral early on Monday 27th August.  I have planned the route quite carefully - though I do expect it to change based on cycling and weather conditions.  Oh .. and also how much fun I'm having at any given time ;o)  Sorry if the picture is a little fuzzy When I upload it the Blog progmamme shrinks it.
